Speaking about Alexey Alpatov creativity, one of the eminent critics said that painting of this master represents a harmonious combination of original talent and high professionalism. And in fact, looking at Alexey's works it is impossible to disagree with this appreciation of art criticism.
Today Alexey Alpatov, though being so young, is a mature and recognized master, well-known among critics, gallery visitors and collectors of painting. Uniqueness of the talent of the master is in that the artist, not having possibility to receive a special art education, mastered painting science independently, and has managed to reach so convincing results that has forced to speak about himself as about the present phenomenon in the modern art. Confirming to a professional skill and bright creative individuality of the author, the prudish art world recognized him and accepted in the circles.

The earliest and most recognizable works by the Moscow spectator works of art are devoted the city landscape. But the artist brings to our attention not smart architectural kinds of the central Moscow prospects but modest facades of buildings of lanes and outskirts. These timid images of a native city are close to everyone, they are a true face of our daily life. On his canvas Alexey creates a set of variations of narrow deserted small streets and gates. The master transfers on his canvas all crazings, all signs of old constructions with such love, trembling and accuracy as if he portraits his beloved and near person.
As if on one breath a series of the pictures devoted to Prague was created. But here again we see not European capital, but lanes of the old city which are far from tourist routes.
Undoubtedly, Alexey's art language is original, recognizable, but recently the master in his city views rejects classical tradition, compositions of his new pictures are made on complex and thought over correlations of realism and abstraction. Subjects appear on canvas now with photographic accuracy and now they are dissolved, completely losing their outlines. Alexey, being, undoubtedly, brilliant master of drawing, makes his the main accent now on exact and rigid line. Color becomes more precise, terse: the artist, not being beyond one color, masterly uses set of the most thin shades.
In Alexey Alpatov's creative works there are works of art with absolutely other emotion. It is a series of the landscapes created on an open-air. These canvases amaze the spectator with their major mood and light-bearing force. Here we will not see any gloomy or sad state of the nature. The blinding summer sun fills trees and plants with surprising beautiful tones, sparkles in quiet sea waves. Grey city constructions roll in the south deep greenery and bask in the sun.
A Boat series opens absolutely other stage in the creative activity of artist Alpatov. Within the limits of one canvas the artist skillfully unites the opposite beginnings of graphic art and painting, abstract and realistic, light-bearing and almost monochrome. In spite of the fact that the images chosen by the author are simple enough, lack subject refinement and outwardly manifested action, the spectator all the same feels strong and concealed internal dynamics coming from them.
In his art Alexey Alpatov does not recognize any limits, talent and professionalism give the chance to the master to feel free in realization of his creative ideas.
